ABOUT the Summit:

The “Building Digital Libya” Summit will be a premiere event gathering multi-stakeholder actors in the ICT field around a very promising project aiming to build a sustainable Digital Libya. It will provide a platform for discussing and sharing visions and strategies for the potential roadmaps to make Libya able to make up for any delay in the digitalization caused by the conflict conditions experienced by Libya, namely the telecommunications infrastructure disrupting and many other troubles.

Arab ICT Organization (AICTO)

The Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), is an Arab governmental organization working under the aegis of the League of Arab States.

AICTO foundation resulted from the will of the Arab States which agreed to have its headquarters in the city of Tunis, the capital of the Republic of Tunisia, with the possibility of having branches in Arab countries. It aims at developing ICTs throughout the Arab region and providing the necessary mechanisms to support cooperation and complementarity between its members, promote and enrich common policies and strategies to develop vital technological domains.

General Authority for Communications and Informatics (State of Libya)

The General Communications Authority is the highest authority responsible for the telecommunications sector in Libya. It has accomplished many achievements by linking the various regions of Libya after the disruption of the communication infrastructure during the revolution, in addition to restoring telecommunications, postal, and Internet services and completing some important strategic projects in an effort to contribute to the reunification and reconstruction of Libya.

It aims to improve the quality of services: raising the quality of communications and information technology services for the consumer, to set up the strategic plan for the ICT sector: Establishing detailed work plans and mechanisms for the development of the Libyan ICT sector.
